Feeling Swamped? Cut the Bullsh*t and Build a Stronger, Healthier You (But, For Real This Time).
Let's be real. In this fast-paced world, "prioritizing health" often feels like just another item on a "to-do" list that's more "to-don't." Right?
We've all been there. You're moving, sure, but are you actually progressing? Or are you just stuck in the mud, mistaking motion for forward momentum?
Stop the Excuses: True Wellness is a Decision.
All too often, that "stuck" feeling, that "blockage," is rooted in one place: our own self-doubt. That little voice in your head whispering that some invisible factor is stopping you from getting sh*t done.
Your brain is wired to play this trick, plain and simple. It causes that momentary hesitation, that paralyzing pause before you take a "leap of faith" into anything unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or risky. You know the drill.
But here’s the kicker: it’s at this precise moment that you have to DECIDE.
Think about the word "decide." Its root, "decidere," means "to cut from." More often than not, the fastest way to add to your life – more energy, less stress, real strength – is by subtracting the things, the ideals, and especially the self-limiting beliefs that hold you back. Addition by subtraction, baby. This ain't your first rodeo, is it?
"Sounds great," you're thinking, "but what the f*ck does this mean for me, and how do I use it right now?"
That beautifully written plan in the journal you bought from Target when you woke up and decided to be a total badass and get your sh*t together is still… well, undone.
Your Wellness Mission: Cut the Fluff, Get Strong.
Here’s my trick for you, straight up:
Take that overwhelming "wellness plan" – the one promising a new you by next Tuesday – and shove it... kidding. Mostly.
But seriously, take your list of "should-dos" for fitness, nutrition, and well-being. Now, start narrowing down anything that isn't URGENT OR IMPORTANT for moving your needle. Ditch the distractions.
Do this until you have only 3 things left on that list. Just 3, Karen. Don't f*ck with me.
Now, look at those 3. Which one is most vital for you? Your goals? Your family? Your sanity?
You can only pick 1.
Pick the ONE thing that will truly MOVE THE NEEDLE towards your ideal day, your ideal life – and get to work.
DECIDE, for yourself and by yourself, which of those bullet points is most important. Then, take unrelenting ACTION to get that one thing DONE. Do NOT move on to the next "thing" until thing #1 is complete to your satisfaction. (And no, perfectionists, this ain't your excuse to stall – another post for another day on that one).
Now, It's Time to Act.
Ideas are great. Thinking about getting healthy is always good. But both of those are USELESS without execution.
